The Idea:
If you can care for your body by playing football, or eating an apple, then what’s the equivalent for your mind?
Mindapples is a social movement to promote individual self-management of mental wellbeing. The original “5-a-day†campaign encouraged people to take care of their physical health through simple daily activities, and we want to do the same thing for mental health.
The aim is to create a stigma-free public debate about mental wellbeing, simply by asking everybody the question: “What’s your five-a-day?â€
I stumbled across this site today! What a great project check it out! So what are your 5- a -day?

Thanks Kathy! So, what are yours…?
Off the cuff Andy….
! Kathy
1. Stay informed… when I stop reading the papers I will truly have lost it!
2. Exercise my brain….even if it is shrinking from all that red wine!
3. Eat healthy, and whenever possible add family and friends
4. Laugh— especially at myself
5. Pet the dogs… yes Portia even if they do bite the hand that feeds them!
Fantastic. I particularly agree with laughter, I think it’s one of those things that we do instinctively and then ‘unlearn’ as we get older and apparently wiser.
So I’d agree with that, and this week my other four are:
2. Singing (proper hairbrush-style)
3. Talking to people about all the random stuff in my brain
4. Doing things I’m good at (which at the moment is what work’s for)
5. Sitting in the park opposite the office, watching squirrels burying their nuts.

Thanks Andy,
re: Laughter…. I have just discovered “Gavin & Stacey”… coming from South Wales ( as I do) it reminds me of my mispent youth and it don’t half makes me laugh boyo!
I also guess like me you love your work… and that in itself keeps me mentally healthy!
Good luck with your site and project ( I will add you to our Blogroll)Kathy
