Viagra may make men more loving

Scientists have discovered that the impotence drug can boost levels of a “cuddle chemical” in the brain.

Researchers at the University of Wisconsin-Madison report this month that sildenafil (the generic name for Viagra) increases the amount of oxytocin released by stimulation of the posterior pituitary gland.

Is anorexia the female autism?

Anorexia could be caused by a genetic brain disorder shared by sufferers of autism and Asperger’s syndrome, according to a leading psychiatrist. Prof Janet Treasure of King’s College London thinks the illness may be triggered by inherited problems with mental processing which can often be spotted in childhood behaviour. [continue reading…]
