Today the BBC news looks at why playing the drums may be an effective therapy. Indeed one day I was intrigued to hear a rythmic beat coming from one of our offices. Further investigation uncovered one of our psychologists tapping out a rhythm, he explained this rhythmic “drumming” was part of a new therapy he was learning, struggling with a cancer diagnosis he was enthusiastically looking at changing his current lifestyle and learning new ways to relax, the drumming he confided was one of the therapies he was using and very much enjoying as a way to relax and deal with stress.
