Reading the British ‘papers’ is how I usually like to start my day. Incidentally,digested with a good brew of broken Orange Pekoe! I usually start with The Guardian, closely followed by The Independent and The Times if I’m in the mood for gossip/scandal I will wander onto the Mail Online. Maybe these habits will reveal more about my character to some of you that it will to others! Suffice to say its a habit I am unable to break. When I first emigrated to Canada 20 years ago I went into serious withdrawal. Imagine no Sunday papers ( confession I even read flyers in desperation). Â Argh!!!!
But my integration to this land is now complete and the wonder of the Internet has restored that which I have always coveted.

I came across this fascinating video this morning. Kate was the first person in a persistent vegetative state to be given a PET scan. Though physically unresponsive and unable to communicate, the scan showed unexpected brain activity.
