Todays top story featured in New Scientist takes a look at “andropause” and HRT for ageing men.

TIREDNESS, depression and lack of libido all seem inevitable parts of male ageing, but what if an age-related lack of testosterone is at the root of all these symptoms? Increasingly, doctors say such an “andropause” exists and that its effects may go beyond feeling a bit tired – obesity and diabetes also appear to be linked. I had a dream 2 nights ago, not an unremarkable feat you might comment. On awakening I was struck by the vivid memory of the dream, I was purchasing fabric ( to make a prom dress), but I digress…. the colours of the fabric , the detail and especially the scarlet red shoes that I chose to complete my “look” are what stuck with me on waking! So, in light of the fact that I was a child  who grew up with black & white TV , the following feature in New Scientist  particularly caught my eye.
