I came across this great videoÂ today in the Telegraph– If you have children and worry about the effect that playing violent video games has on them you will find this fascinating

Robbie Cooper’s film stills capture children’s faces as they play violent video games and form the basis of an art project that could also help us understand the effects of spending time in a virtual world.

Violent video games desensitize players to real-world violence

Playing violent video games changes brain function and desensitizes chronic players to violence, a new study shows.
It’s already well known that playing violent video games increases aggressive behavior and decreases helping behavior,” said University of Michigan researcher Brad Bushman. “But this study is the first to link exposure to violent video games with a diminished reaction to violent images.” [continue reading…]
